A YouTube lecture, webinar, or tutorial can contain an entire presentation, but reviewing it means repeatedly pausing and searching through the timeline. Turning the visible presentation moments into a PowerPoint makes the material faster to scan, organize, and revisit.

Choose a suitable YouTube video
The best source clearly shows slides, charts, diagrams, or shared screens for most of the recording. A talking-head video with no presentation content will not become a useful deck simply because it contains narration.

Paste the YouTube URL
Start directly from an accessible video link without manually taking screenshots from the player.
Open YouTube to Slidesand paste the video URL. The page accepts standard watch, share, Shorts, live, and embed URL formats.
After the link loads, confirm the preview, title, and duration. This prevents processing the wrong recording and lets you compare its length with your plan limits before continuing.
A supported URL format does not guarantee that every video can be processed. Private, restricted, removed, region-blocked, age-gated, or otherwise unavailable videos may fail to load.
Choose how to find the slides
Decide whether regular screenshots are enough or whether the presentation needs AI-assisted slide detection.
Fixed interval
Fixed interval is the free local-processing option. For this example, we captured one frame every 3 seconds. It is a straightforward method, but it does not understand whether the presentation has actually changed.
The result contained 127 frames. Many showed the same page or only a small change in the slide. This is useful when you want regular timeline screenshots, but it creates much more review work for a presentation.
AI detection
We then selected AI detection for the same video. This paid cloud option looks for meaningful visual changes, removes many repeated moments, and tries to keep complete slide states. The video used 7 AI detection minutes because usage is rounded up to the next full video minute.
Which option should you choose?
Review the detected slides
Remove anything that does not belong in the final deck and confirm that the remaining pages follow the video timeline.
AI detection reduced this video to 10 distinct slides. The repeated frames from the fixed-interval result were gone, leaving a much smaller set that represented the main presentation changes.
Review the result before exporting. You can select, deselect, and delete pages you do not need. Direct YouTube tasks cannot currently insert a missed slide or replace a detected slide with a different video frame. If the result needs either correction, download a copy you are permitted to use, open the Video to PPT converter, and upload the video file there. What to check before export
- Confirm that every selected page adds useful information.
- Delete duplicates and incomplete presentation transitions.
- Remove camera-only sections, advertisements, and loading screens.
- Check whether an important slide is missing or captured too early.
- Switch to a local upload before export if Insert or Replace is required.
Export the PowerPoint
Turn the selected presentation moments into an editable PPTX or a fixed PDF reference.
Select the slides you want and click Export PPT. PowerPoint export uses one editable-slide credit for every selected page. OCR rebuilds recognized text and visual elements so the result can be opened and reviewed in PowerPoint or Google Slides.
Choose PDF when you only need a fixed document for reading or sharing. PDF download does not use editable PowerPoint slide credits. Whichever format you choose, review recognized text before presenting or publishing the result.
Common questions
Do I need to download the YouTube video first?
Not for basic detection and export. Paste a supported URL directly. You only need a permitted local copy when you want to insert a missed slide or replace a slide with a different frame.
Why can’t I insert or replace a YouTube slide?
The direct URL workflow does not retain an editable source video for frame-by-frame correction. You can still review, select, delete, and export the detected pages. Use local file upload when detailed correction is required.
Can I use any YouTube video?
No. The video must be accessible for playback and processing. Private, removed, restricted, age-gated, or region-blocked videos may fail. You are also responsible for having the rights or permission needed to process and reuse the content.
Does the tool create slides from the narration?
No. It extracts visible presentation content already shown in the video, such as slides, diagrams, charts, and shared screens. It does not turn a spoken-only video into a newly designed presentation.
Can I export only some of the detected slides?
Yes. Select or deselect individual pages before exporting. Because PPT credits are based on the selected slide count, removing unnecessary pages also reduces the export cost.
