Fixed interval
Fixed interval is the free Local processing option. It captures one frame at the interval you choose and does not use AI detection minutes. For this example, we selected one frame every 3 seconds.
The 6:17 recording produced 127 selected frames. The opening title alone appeared several times, and progressive bullet slides generated multiple nearly identical states. The result was complete, but it required far more manual review than the final deck justified.
AI detection
AI detection is the paid cloud-processing option. It looks for meaningful visual changes and removes many repeated moments before you review the result. Processing this 6:17 video used 7 AI detection minutes because usage is rounded up to the next full minute.
AI detection returned 10 complete, distinct slides in lecture order. That was a much cleaner starting point than 127 timeline frames while still preserving the title, examples, workflow, prompt sheet, and closing page.

Keep complete teaching visuals and remove frames that make the deck harder to scan.
Review the detected pages in lecture order. Deselect or delete repeated slides, loading screens, speaker-only frames, and intermediate animation states that do not add useful information. When several frames show the same diagram being built, keep the state that best matches what you need to study.

Slides are only one part of lecture study. Keep your own notes for the instructor's explanation, examples, and context that may not be written on screen. The exported deck works best as a visual companion, not as a replacement for the recording or your notes.
Correct missing or mistimed slides

With an uploaded lecture file, Insert lets you add a useful visual that was missed, while Replace lets you move an existing page to a clearer moment in the video. You can also delete a page that does not belong in the final result. These controls are especially useful for whiteboard lessons and slides with progressive bullet animations.
Correct before exporting
Export a focused study deck
Download only the pages that support review, annotation, or teaching preparation.
Select the finished lecture pages and export them as PPTX when you want to edit recognized text, reorder the deck, add notes, or combine the material with another presentation. Editable PowerPoint export uses one slide credit for each selected page.
Choose PDF when you only need a fixed visual reference for reading or sharing. PDF export does not use editable-slide credits. In either format, check formulas, citations, names, and other important text against the original recording before relying on the result.
Common questions
Can I turn a two-hour lecture into slides?
Yes, on a plan that supports that video duration. Starter accepts videos up to 2 hours, while Pro supports videos up to 4 hours. A Free account is limited to 30-minute videos.
Will the tool capture whiteboard notes?
It can keep clear, stable whiteboard states when they appear as meaningful visual changes. Results are less reliable when the board is small, obstructed, blurred, or constantly moving. A local upload is preferable when you expect to correct the exact captured moment.
Does the PowerPoint include the lecturer's explanation?
No. The deck is reconstructed from visual content shown in the video; it does not convert the narration into speaker notes or newly written slides. Keep the recording or transcript for spoken context.
Should I use Fixed interval or AI detection?
Use Fixed interval when you want free, predictable timeline captures and do not mind reviewing more frames. Use AI detection when a long or animated lecture would otherwise produce many duplicates and incomplete states.
Can I export only the slides I need for an exam?
Yes. Select or deselect individual pages before export. A smaller, topic-focused deck is usually easier to study and uses fewer editable PowerPoint slide credits.
